It's just a lip or chin spoiler. It just tacks on the the bottom of the bumper cover. Maybe a few inches deep, but not much.
In other news:

(actually, the two wheel well units need to be flipped; the curved part goes on the outside edge, not the inside edge.)

Temp installed the lower grille block for fitment:

Temp installed the wheel well panels for fitment as well:

They will be secured and do/will not hit the tire. There is a good 1.5 inches before the tire will hit the panel. And that is with the wheel turned all the way until the stop. I'm not worried about that.
Hopefully, I can get the lower grille block installed tomorrow, because I have a 400+ mile road trip to Canada on Wednesday, and I'm sure this will help!

It looks great! I hope that you attach it as cleanly as you made the pieces!

Is the green tape there to stay?

Cool

Lower grille block installed:

It has nut plates behind it. But I need to paint it. I just went on a 500 miles road trip and I'm still on the same tank of gas. As of today, I'm at 509 miles on one tank. Which is great considering the 10 mile back up outside of Toronto.
The operating temps are higher, but I have an awesome electric fan.
Looking forward to getting those other wheel well panels installed soon!

Update:
The front end needs to be rebuilt, so it will be done, once I get home from deployment.
Also, I need to do that motor swap I've been talking about for a long while.
It runs like a champ, though! I have been looking through some Mustang forums and found cheap manual transmissions. Unfortunately, I need to focus on buying a house first before trying a manual swap.
But it is on the list of things to do eventually.
Also planned for this summer is the under body paneling in the rear and front. The middle is going to be a little tricky.

Are the two front wheelwell pieces in place yet? Any result?

Looking at your pix, I realized maybe I should do a lower grille block—on my '71 Superbeetle. That's where they put the condenser on cars with air conditioning, it's not used otherwise.

Along with my front end rebuild, I have a new header panel and parts I need to install as well.
I'll be removing the condenser at that point.

I figured, with the two "grilles" that I could make due with one. So far, it has proved well. Granted, this is the larger of the two.
It did make an impact over my first road trip. But I haven't had much drive time since then.
The front pieces are not in yet. I'm planning on doing those over the summer.
I can't work on any of my cars right now because I'm deployed.
I will keep you updated, though.

Yeah! Business time!
Pulled the A/C condenser out, along with the hood insulation and underhood cross-support things.
Dropped 15.2 lbs from the rig, bringing the grand total to 106.8 lbs removed/reduced.
My goal of 300 lbs is looking good!
Next, is to swap out the steel bumper for an aluminum one. I didn't know I had one until now.

I also installed some Steeda under drive pullies, so we'll see how these work out. I just put a set on my Lincoln last week.

We bought a house!
Turns out my daily drive is going to go from 5.5 one-way, to around 20 miles one-way.
Time to get tons of data and save som fuel!

I replaced my steel front bumper with an aluminum one tonight.
Funny thing is, all the aeros, 92+ were supposed to have aluminum bumpers stock. And for what ever reason, both my front and rear bumpers are steel.
Regardless, I dropped another 6.2 lbs from the Tank.
Ever so slowly, I'm making progress towards that 300 lbs total reduction.

I also forgot to add that I did replace all the bushings in the front suspension with Energy Suspension poly bushings, KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, Moog ball joints, and dropped the car around 1.25" in the front.

Installed (I know I need new tires):

And I painted it:

]

Flat rattle can black:

More mods soon enough. I hope.
