Great Work
I read through this entire thread today and couldn't stop. Very intrigued in your car. Keep going! Eager to see new MPG numbers.

Thanks!
Me too.
But I had a belt shift in the right front tire last night. So now I have to get that taken care of.

I installed L.E.D corner parking lights.
From this:
To this:
Also, I picked up an aluminum Teksid block for my build. I cleaned it, and had it sand blasted. Now, I need to powder coat it and build it up.
It weighes only 75 lbs, and its good for an 85+ lbs reduction on the car.
And here it is, in my kitchen:
More progress!!

Had a massive fuel leak.
Lost 10 gallons out of the tank. I recovered around 8 gallons of it.
It's all fixed now, but I need to fix the exhaust. It's broken in about 7 or so different spots.
And it all just kinda happened at once.
Oh well.

I feel your pain. It's time for ball joints and tie rod ends on mine.

That powder is specifically engineered to dissapate heat.
I have several types at my shop, but I'm using a poly hybrid powder. Essentially, a really sweet plastic coating.
It may cause it to be a tad warmer, but I don't think it would matter too much. ....
You know what, I'll get the infrared laser thermometer out and do a test. I'll check the temp of the block, heads and covers now, uncoated to get a baseline. Then after the build, I'll check again to see what differences there are. I'm sure there will be differences, because of the swap from iron to aluminum.
Thanks for the insight!
And for the information to that company. It's looks like I could benefit from some of their powders as well.

I just completely rebuilt the front end on the Tank.
Well, some, ok, maybe all the components were stock.
Like O.E.M. factory original.
Anyways, I'm at the point now, that if anything breaks that I haven't replaced, I don't get mad.
"Part failed. After 22 years, and over 220k? Good job part!"
It's only the parts that I have replaced that I get upset at.

I've said I've wanted to do the aluminum block swap to drop weight.
I'm finally doing something about it.
Here's my CVPI motor that I'm tearing down to swap over to the aluminum block.
And BOOM!
I got the oil pan and most of the internals removed today.
Tomorrow I'm looking to finish removing all the internals, and *possibly* get that block off the stand.
By the way, I do have another stand for the aluminum block, but I just want to get it out of the way.
More updates tomorrow.
