Yeah, so I would guess the channels are hardcoded and it's class 2 maybe? which would be why you could only run 1 at a time, I wonder if you could get two different brands, one VR3 and one PEAK and they would run off different channels? I doubt you could find the info in the documentation they seem like kinda cheapo devices without a real thorough spec sheet.

But I don't want one as a backup camera, I want it as a rear view mirror replacement. I'd hate to be driving down the road, and see what's in someone else's mirror.

If I could find some good ones, and had time to spare, I'd really like to run the displays through and image-processing program. I could do things like eliminate the glare from the idiots behind me who've apparently never heard of low beams. Though just image processing might not be entirely satisfactory: there was one last night who got me thinking in terms of a CO2 pellet gun mounted in computer-controlled gimbals. Sort of a remote-controlled dimmer switch :-)

I have two old school very small (quarter size) security cameras that I used for whatever mischief in highschool(never anything illegal or unethical just funny). It had the option of being wired or wireless(with multiple different channels) and the reciever box could be switched between several channels(if you only had basic display) or could display both at the same time in split screen if you had the ability.

I've been considering hooking them in because they use virtually no power when wired(almost none when wireless) and I have a spare monitor and an old laptop that is not used for anything else(capable of split screen(dual screening)).

Interesting... But from the description in the link, they appear to be doing IR with illumination from the LEDs, no? I was thinking about using the ambient light, with image processing to amplify to visual range, and threshold the lights of following cars.

Wouldn't mind having something similar as a heads-up display for night driving, to e.g. pick up deer before they get within headlight range.
