I never did find a loose connector. 20 miles so far no pending or current cel. I can clearly feel lean burn engage and see me front o2 go from around .5v to around .39v when it kicks in. I have found it easy to get in and out of it once it kicks in. The dx gearing is great at highway speeds. Around 2700 rpm at 65mph

Pending EGR Code P0401. I cleaned the he!! out of the egr valve and all intake passages.

I also noticed that my rear o2 "secondary" had a pin pulled out of the sensor which resulted on the voltage never changing to the ECU.

I fixed this and now the voltage swings as it should.

Do you think that the lack of proper feedback from the 2nd o2 sensor could cause the ECU to think the EGR isn't flowing sufficiently?

I will clear the pending codes, see if they return and update.

My mission right now is to:

1. Re-dedicate my non existent ABS light into a shift light.

2. Get a vacuum tee and plumb my cruise back in as well as wire up my vacuum gauge since I'll have the cluster out.

3. Dial in the display page settings on my ultragauge. *any input on how many / what parameters you watch? I was thinking Rear o2 to monitor leanburn, TPS, Engine Load and........

Just 4 displayed in hopes the refresh rate will be as high as possible.

Your secondary oxygen sensor should read 0.0 volts when the car is in lean burn.

Egr valve operates on the valve overlap on cold start up. You cleaned the intake manifold and the runners ontop of the manifold too right?

Yep, everything is sparkling clean inside. It was TOTALLY gummed / clogged up.

So guess what, I am able to get lean burn fairly easy in 3rd gear.

I have confirmed 3rd gear and 5th gear.

3rd puts me at about 37mph when it kicks in and 5th is at freeway speeds. DX gear ratios!

Ignore the wideband, I do NOT have the sensor installed yet. I am thinking about eliminating the 2nd o2 sensor and using the wideband in it's place. From what I can tell the 2nd o2 sensor runs from 0-1v which my Uego will output to the ECU.
Unfortunately the Uego gauge won't display anything higher than ~18 afr. but will data log even leaner than that.

Here's proof of leanburn in 3rd. I was able to do this many times, fairly easily.

Note* I was able to get it to kick in and out really quickly when NOT filming lol. I mean when I would make it kick out by stepping on the throttle or going into DFCO I could get it back within 3-5 seconds.

I just installed my wideband+put it to the ecu for the secondary o2 input to it.

I do not like the results. Even in LB it never shows 0.00v on the scan gauge. The lowest I could get it to go was .15

Putting the stock secondary o2 back the way it was and will install a bung for my Uego.

Did some more light cruising, was able to get LB in 3rd gear also and when I shifted to 4th it came back within 5 seconds.

I found that if I shift when the shift light says, I'll never get LB in 3-4 gear.

It makes sense why I'm not throwing a CEL with the solenoid on the canister unplugged since the actual solenoid is on the fuel rail like yours.

If I end up with ANY evap codes I will get a canister for the EX / HX.

Observations so far:

LB will disengage at exactly 3100 rpms. I was able to do this over and over. I would be cruising the hwy at ~65 mph. I would slowly increase throttle position and bring the engine load upto ~90%. It was gradually accelerating then the instant I hit 3100 rpm's it would kick out. That translated to 74mph. That works out perfectly for me as the max highway speeds here are 70mph.

I seemed to be able to get into LB at ~2500 rpm's the easiest. Once it's in I can let the rpm's go down or up and stay in it. I haven't found the lower rpm limit yet due to limited testing time but will figure it out. I would let the rpm's go down but do NOT release the throttle all the way because then you go into DFCO.

If I do enter DFCO then roll back on the throttle it almost instantly goes back into LB.

I was able to get LB in gears 3, 4 and 5. So far I do not see any mph limit. It seems to be related to engine load, throttle position, coolant temperature and timing.

Now that I'm mostly done with playing around I topped the tank off and will start logging miles.

How many codes are you throwing, you have said egr and evap.

Won't let me view video but I would focus on the codes first, the car won't enter lean burn mode with check engine lights, and you really can't be sure everything is operating correctly

Unless I missed it I never claimed to be throwing any codes.

The only code that I did have "pending" was an egr code and all my passages are squeaky clean. If I do end up with an EGR code I will dis-assemble the EGR valve and go through it.

The EVAP questions I asked were related to the solenoid on my canister that has no plug on it and you helped me solve that.

I haven't said anywhere that I was having trouble getting into LB.

I was trying to indicate that LB has been pretty easy to get into.

Now if my MPGuino would get here. It's been ~3 weeks since I ordered it.

Ultragauge, as you all know is virtually worthless in it's MPG calculations in the HX. The second you hit leanburn and have to roll into the throttle more to maintain your speed the UG figures nosedive.
