If I were me, I would try and modify the cargo carrier by moving it forwards and closer to the car ( and flipping it of course ) .

I thought of that as well. Only thing is my car is going to be loaded down with stuff...if i move the box forward that's just more weight on the car and less on the trailer. Not sure how much difference it would make.

I see your point about the weight. Don't know about that.

What i had imagined was to flip the carrier, mount it to a sheet of plywood and have it mounted closer to the car. Then attach a sheet of coroplast to the back side and have it follow the curve of the template.
The wheels could have coroplast covers as well simply by flexing it and attaching it to the frame.

It would improve your aerodynamics greatly and pay for itself easily!

Your wheels covers look amazing. Where did you get the material to make them? How thick is the plastic? Have you though of heavy duty velcro instead of double sided tape to make them removable?

I used ABS plastic. I can't remember the thickness but it's the thinnest one, 1/8th" I think.

I did think of the Velcro but decided to use the 3M double sized tape for ease of install.

After I get to my new home I want to do something removable. Only thing is its difficult to do something that you can take off and also leave nothing Visible behind.

4000KM road trip starting tomorrow, I'll post pics and results of my new unposted mod (diffuser) when I get there. No Internet right now, using phone

I saw you got the Civic Hybrid wheels, have you tried getting the hybrid bellypans?

The only reason i have the hybrid wheels is because I got a really good deal on snow tires and they were included.

As for the under body panels...I do have them all and can say they make a big difference. Mostly the engine belly pan and 2 long side peices.

As I said im still traveling. Once I get settled I'll get some pictures and info up

In Canada, ALL 2008 5 speed civic sedans got the Hybrid wheels and I think the underbody panels. Honda Canada did this so the Civic could be sold as an EcoAuto and qualify for some sort of rebate. As a result the wheels are quite common here.

The changes according to Transport Canada were good for 2 mpg Imperial

For anyone interested in putting on the panels, I found a guy on 8thGen Civic forums that did it and he says it doesn't matter if it's a coupe or sedan.

They didn't allow me to post the link but you can look it up using this phrase.

civic hybrid aero dynamics fg2 coupe
