What about bolt-on parts from the civic hybrid? Flat wheels, underbody panels, all OEM?

Look at this idea by forum user Vekke :

Clear plastic (ABS, IIRC ?) with special round zip-tie locks

ok so the strake in front of the rear tire. would it help if i made it bigger?
If you take a look at new cars, they often have these, and they don't go all the way to the side of the tire either.

i know i havent been here for a while but here is an update on my car...

black abs wheel covers made with a dremel, stuck on with 3M double sided tape. They held on for a 2000km road trip so i think they should be ok

Those are the best looking smooth wheel covers I've seen. They certainly look like the Exelero wheels now.
Have you considered clear ABS to show off your wheels underneath ?

clear lexan would be an option but i am pretty strapped for cash right now. trying to save to a down payment on a house.

Cd: you were one of the guys that actually followed my thread...right now i have some ABS left over so i was thinking of using the left over ABS to improve the underbody more.

i've had people staring and asking questions about the covers...pretty cool

Instead of Lexan, consider PETG, almost as tough, easier to work, and much cheaper. It's the tough plastic that soda bottles and most other clear plastic packages are made of, everywhere these days. Vacuum and thermo-forms easily. YouTube for it.

Got pics or details of how you used that double sided 3M tape for attachment? Foam tape might work, too.

For those of us concerned about fashion, maybe such wheel disks, etc. could be made for easy-on and -off application for highway trips at higher speeds, but removed for daily use at low speeds around town. (?)

there is a picture of my wheels on the 2nd page, if you look at that...all i did was put the tape on 5 of the spokes and stuck the cover on.

i couldnt think of a way to make them removable with ease and still have nothing showing on the wheel so i just did this. if someone has a good solution my ears are open

The only thing that looks different between your wheels and the Exelero that I see is the trim ring around the edge of the cover. I have seen flat black wheels with a red trim ring at the edges and it looks just as good.
