If you use washers around the screws or bolts mounting the lawn edge airdam the mounts will last much longer. Be sure to have a proper tool in the car for removal of the airdam too, or else in a tow situation you will need to rip the airdam loose or see it mangled by the tow hook.

I'm going to just say screw it and put screws into the bumper. I'll keep this car until she's ready for the scrap pile. And about the tow hook, ill let future me deal with future problems.

Making pizza pans into hubcaps is an issue, I'll have to cut and drill. I'm thinking of just buying proper hubcaps.

I used self tapping screws. Bumper was already slightly cracked underneath so it helps hold it all together. And the holes are quite tiny too. Has held up to about 3000 miles of driving, with scraping and all (only 2.5" of ground clearance).

I drilled mine I to my bumper with self tapping screws too, I think it looks alright, even my wife doesn’t hate it... just go through the “loop” part of the lawn adding so you’ve got two thicknesses of the stuff holding it on...

Would you guys mind sharing pictures on the exact attachment point? I'm hoping to make it look half decent.

I don’t mind at all, if it helps... my air dam scrapes on literally everything and I’ve even run it into parking blocks and it’s held on okay, though I really shoulda used washers like it was mentioned earlier...

I was originally going for the look you have, but for my own life couldn’t get it screwed on in the fashion you described so I just screwed mine to the face of the bumper... however I did try to get the round loop part right at the bottom of the bumper...

The round loop part was split in half and screwed in on both sides. It was a two person project between my dad and i, and took a good couple of hours to do.

I remember attempting that method but wasting 8’ of lawn edging because I couldn’t get it to screw on... I was working alone though... gave up, cut a new length of it and went into the face of the bumper... wife says it looks kinda like a race car lol
