Great idea!

I have drill bits up to 1". I am just not sure I want holes in the aero covers. Would a 1" hole be big enough? The end on my air compressor is .75".

How much air would excape?
I would think that this much material removed would off balance the wheel. Ideas?

if you had a small hole in the middle to see the bubble. You could plug the hole with one of those hole plug things (plastic/rubber thing).

clip on to the edges. They are sometimes used in cars to block holes on trunks and stuff. Hard plastic.

The above could either be plastic or metal.

I see lots of these in black or white plastic at the hardware store :

Go to the specialty fasteners section of the hardware store and look over what they got.

That would make the hole much better

pop out to check pressure, pop in for use!

They would be perfect for those who balance at home....like me.
You could also have one for each lug nut......for easy tire rotation.

What kind of looks do you guys get driving with pizza pan hub caps?

I'm considering it, but they would definitely be painted black.

Most people do not seem to see them. On my car they point out the Kammback or grill block, I have to point out that I also added pizza pans.

I like the silver, most all rims are silver so it looks like your car came with moon disks. Black might not be bad.

A few looks are worth 1-2 MPG to me

...in the electronics industry, we call those plastic and metal hole "plugs" by the name: BOO-BOO PLUGS...as in: mistake hole fixers.
