Yep so the apthara will disappoint or kill who ever thinks they can jump in and drive it like a regular car.

Stoopid question: Can you actually go screaming along a winding country road in an aptera? All my favorite twisty* roads are way out in the boonies, takes a while to get there, which is kind of the point.

* well except for Mulholland drive headed eastbound from the 405 and Cali highway 2 from Palmdale.

Seeing how most videos are of the early Alpha prototypes that lacked swaybars and since then Aptera has radically improved their suspension it will probably be just fine.

I have noticed it takes apthara forever to do anything. I highly doubt they made any improvements in such a short time.

If you understand what they are saying, the solar ADDS to the charge you already have.
with 10, 20, or whatever solar miles a day, a lot of people will never have to plug in.

BTW , I wanted to ask everyone here why the Aptera doesn't follow the "Template", but I don't want to start a new thread.
If the Aptera followed the Template, there would be a lot more room in back, but not a huge amount added to the length.
Without much added to the length, it also wouldn't add much additional weight.

I traced the Template over the Aptera.
The black line in the AST, and the grey is the car underneath.
No false advertising. They will sell them on the claim the cars never need to be plugged in if you drive some fantasy number of miles. What will happen is people will be plugging in during the winter if they drive 10 to 20 miles day.
If they ever sell this thing and it encounters the real world it's going to be great.
Remember the guys who came up with these fantasy numbers also insisted they didn't need an anti sway bar and now what, they're going to correct on everything else. HA!
Next they will be selling bridges in new york.

Aptera's last alpha prototype was finished on May 20, 2021. They are now focusing on their beta prototypes. They've turned to Roush to design the suspension on their betas. Their goal is to have a working production car by the end of the year.

Oh wow they contracted someone competent, this thing might actually be in danger of being built. They proved how much they know about designing suspensions...
It's safe to say roush it going to have to start over from scratch.
Roush doesn't put their name on crap so it should work pretty well even being handicapped with those stupid hub motors.

I just learned something I should have realized 10 years ago on this site.

So in the case of the Aptera, if you extended the rear out the way you see in the sketch, would you reduce drag even more ?
It seems like a no brainer if so - more room AND lower drag.

Also, just wondering if you plan on buying one of these used in the future Oil Pan ?

You and Redpoint are the main reasons I gave up on Aptera this time around.

I like that you both are playing devil's advocate, but I wish I had also been looking at the good things Aptera is doing this time around.
