oil pan 4 -- It was a different world. Oregon had well-respected politicians like Wayne Morse (the Tiger of the Senate) and Tom McCall.

Then came a governor being cancelled and mail-in voting. Voila!

edit: OMG! The Tom McCall Wiki article covers the Vortex rock concert!

Quote:
The festival, nicknamed "The Governor's Pot Party" by Oregonians, was a success, attracting between 50,000 and 100,000 people. Gold, The Portland Zoo, Osceola, Fox, and Chrome Cyrcus were among the bands that played. The media announced that Santana, Jefferson Airplane, and the Grateful Dead were on the way, but none of them appeared. The feared violent clash between the antiwar groups and the conservative American Legion was avoided, and the city of Portland passed the summer relatively uneventfully. McCall was re-elected in November, with 56% of the vote.
This was back during Prohibition and he was reelected with 56%.

2nd edit:
That Wiki article keeps on giving: Tom_McCall#Later_life_and_death

Quote:
After McCall's final attempt at the governorship a group launched an initiative to repeal McCall's most lasting legacy, the state's land use planning system, which included urban growth boundaries. Measure 6 went on the ballot for the 1982 election and McCall vowed to fight it to the end. McCall was dying of cancer and used the final months of his life making sure that Measure 6 did not pass.

During his campaign against Measure 6 McCall said, "You all know I have terminal cancer—and I have a lot of it. But what you may not know is that stress induces its spread and induces its activity. Stress may even bring it on. Yet stress is the fuel of the activist. This activist loves Oregon more than he loves life. I know I can't have both very long. The trade-offs are all right with me. But if the legacy we helped give Oregon and which made it twinkle from afar—if it goes, then I guess I wouldn't want to live in Oregon anyhow."

Swerve testing and testing on a drag strip. It seems they have 2 new real productions locations. One for body and chassis, the other for powertrain.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

He mentions safety but doesn't point out that open-wheel cars are the safest in a 40% offset frontal collision.

They have been arguing for over a decade that they don’t need a sway bar.

Guess what, after said video they are talking about sway bars

The correct way to build the apthara would be buy one of those Yamaha 3 wheel things, roughly copy all the suspension design elements since Yamaha accomplished what Aptera has been trying to do for 13 years, then screw around with removing parts that way you have a reference for how stupid your idea of removing the anti sway bar is.

My leaf proves why solar cars don't exist. It uses 300 to 400 kwh per month, a leaf sized solar panel is going to collect no where near that much power, especially since I park it under a tree in summer and in a garage during the winter.

The Leaf shows why Aptera and Arcimoto have a shot -- one quarter the power requirement.

I don't believe it, sounds fanciful.
From what I can find electric motor cycles don't even use 1/4 the power of a leaf.
Everything I can find says ebikes use around 1/2 to absolute best case scenario about 1/3 the power to go the same distance.
And that's my leaf, highway driven, pulls a trailer, usually has the back seat full of tools.
Some one who uses a leaf like it was intended, say Neal, gets between 5 and 6 miles per kwh. I get 4 to 4.5 miles per kwh in the summer and I still get better than epa rated mileage. The epa is clearly stupid if they they think the average leaf is going to get 3.3 miles per kwh, I average about 3.8 to 4 miles per kwh and I use the leaf like a pickup. Furthermore the epa is stupid because they think the leaf is going to get 3.3 miles per kwh but can go 99 miles on a charge, yeah that don't add up.
