Everything I've learned with this design is going to be transferred to a custom car.

I have openings on both sides to help spoil any aero side forces.

I'm for letting Arcimoto do all the development work. I want to buy in when they reach their goal of a US$12.9K price point.

In addition to pants on the wheels, I'm thinking a full boat tail (it would only add 2ft to the length) that would start with a 4-6" step-over sill at the A-pillar and sweep up to shoulder height at the C-pillar. It would enclose the rear wheel.

Leaving the sides open for cross-winds sounds easier. Maybe an anti-intrusion bar on the left.

iikhod: that terrain looks a lot like where I ride... though I haven't done a lot of such riding for years.

I should grab a more recent pic of that one... I added a rat trap on the back that gives it much more utility, and extends the line of the top & seat tube - 100% aesthetic improvement.


And I've had a few rides on my old mountain bike in iikhod-esque settings.

You know what? I have! It's geared nicely for trail riding - super granny gear.

But have a look at the rear derailleur. See how low to the ground it is? I didn't consider that, so my first trail ride was my only trail ride because I tore it off when it hit a rock!

Since then, town riding only. Maybe a few flat dirt trails.

Here it is with the rat trap on the back. Doubles as a rear fender (coroplast inside the frame). It accentuates the lines of the bike perfectly.



I also welded gusset plates on the seat back. It had been bent back from the previous rider (you can really put a lot of force on the pedals when there's something against your back).

I get my exercise on rural blacktop. Now, with my grey hair spilling over my collar, hiding my beard from behind, I get a lot more drivers slowing right down to avoid crowding me, even if I'm staying on the narrow shoulder and nodding to them. Sexism is alive and nice.
