I have a feeling that reporting on the concentration of CO2 is going to become the new slow news day "Voyager" story... "and today, Voyager is the farthest human object in space." A statement which is true any moment you say it.

Record levels of CO2 and their consequences, not so much.
We are slowly poisoning everything, including our own kids. How can that not be newsworthy, even on a slow day?

This June was the coolest I can remember. It's now July and the forecast is in the 70s. Should be 90s. Grass is normally brown by now.

Central and North East USA are one of the only places on Earth that are not warmer. Due to the new instability of the Polar Vortex. Makes it hard for Americans and politicians in DC to care or change policy to favor more forward looking agendas.

Oil depletion allowance and similar,annual, multi-billion dollar subsidies,which guarantee that a certain amount of corporate earnings are immune from taxation,absolutely provides for the underwriting of lectures,stipends,expenses,travel,publication,etc. ,of 'speech'.
It's all legal.And you'd expect the fossil-fuel industry to do no less.Some literally risk their lives to produce fossil-fuels so Sierra Club can contaminate the atmosphere as they fly around the Earth every year on admittedly the nastiest form of transportation,to hug a tree or sniff a flower in foreign lands.

Solar dimming,CO2 increase,and global mean average surface temperature increase would be a way to help people to unpack the dynamics of global warming/climate change.
It's actionable information.I'm thankful for it.

Just remember,you're talking about local,regional weather,not to be confused with global mean average 'climate.'
There was a very late -in -the- season tropical cyclone this year.We've got a CAT-4 Hurricane in the Pacific right now,and the season won't even peak until September 10.The Saharan heat cooking Europe is 'early,' not to mention 'record.' According to the World Meteorological Organization,2015-2019 is on-track to becoming the five warmest years on record,in a time when the sun is dimming.
And now we have spontaneously-combusting Spanish cow manure, along with PG&E power lines to figure into wild-fire management.

Remember that North America and Europe are irrelevant. The battle against climate change is happening in India, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. That is where nearly all the growth in emissions is happening.
