I checked my local Home Depot (two, as it so happens) and didn't see the three pack. Maybe that is a regional thing?

Do you recall how much those cost? I can't seem to find them for less than $15 per bulb (HD, ironically) other than on ebay and I'm just not keen on ordering from a nobody with no guarantee.

I recall they were about $12 each after the instant rebate by Puget Sound Energy (PSE.com).

Well, I am using them in a dimmable fixture with four bulbs in it. We had four 60W incandescents before, and the LEDs are plenty bright enough for what I need. To me, they seems as bright as the old bulbs. That could be because my wife had it dimmed most of the time, but I didn't really pay too much attention to it.

Single 40W bulbs are close in price to what I paid for the 3-pack, so I'd still call it a pretty good deal. I haven't found any other LED bulbs for $2.66 each.

Ah I see. By themselves, the 40W LED bulbs aren't very good, but you're spot-on if you're using them in multiples.

Went to Costco the other day and just happened to walk by these BR30 bulbs. $13.69 is a good price for this size bulb, especially at a brick and mortar store.

Good luck. Ive purchased a set of Lights of America from Sams and returned them after a few weeks when they quit working. One died over nite, another kept getting dimmer. CF for me for the time being.

Just got my first LED for the ceiling fan light (dimmer), it is a GE 65W equivalent from Wal-Mart for $10.

The problem I have had with many LED's is that they flicker and flickering lights have been known to trigger my migraines.

For $10 I figured what the heck Ill give it a try.

Its a warm white, and has no flicker (yay). It also puts out more light where we want it than an even higher power incandescent, probably due to the directional nature of the LED's.

We're using both 60W- and 40W-equivalent CREE LED lamps; however, we've found that we prefer the bright white (3500-3700ºK) lamps over the common warm yellow (2500-2700ºK) lamps (old age will do that to your eyes).

They had the 40W and 60W equivalent warm white (2700K) bulbs on sale for $7 and $8 respectively, and I bought several of both. They look great, in my opinion. The one surprise is the (slightly) tacky/sticky coating on the globe - is this on all the Cree LED bulbs?
