Not when the rather sudden heat makes you reach for the AC button
It also shows how much power the AC system is really using.
Engine load @ idle goes from 18-19 to 30-35 % with AC on.
Idle fuel consumption during engine-on coasts is about twice what it is without AC.

Who uses the A/C? Mine is no longer working, anyway because I unplugged the fuse during the winter in order to be able get the defroster to function without always turning on the A/C.

Well my 2012 Chevy cruze is getting better as i'm piling up the miles on it. 4200 on the clock and i got my best mpg on a small trip up north, I stopped and filled up just before i got on the freeway, and then did 55 mpg the whole way till i got off and topped off just to see what she could do. 46.6 mpg at 55 on the freeway, Wind was clam and i did no drafting or anything special, just used cruise control. I might have gotten better if i took cruise control off on the hills but i just left it on.
Anyways 72.2 miles, 1.550 gallons = 46.6 mpg. I'm impressed.

First fillup since installing the SGII, its not even calibrated yet but just using the load, its estimated AVG and instant MPG figures I was at 42.97 MPG this tank, averaging from actual fillup info like always! 0.0 Up from the 36 of last tank! Lets see next tank if this is a fluke

After bumping my tire pressure im hitting about 37-40 mpg hwy. Last tank was 27.75 with a lot of idling and a little spirited driving. Not as much idling this time but maybe more racing cause of the nice weather, cant let people think my car is slow!

Holy record territory, Batman!
Full disclosure: I didn't think to reset the trip odometer until I was at day care, 1.1 miles away from home. That's obviously the mile that the engine is coldest, it's got the screwing around in the driveway and an unfortunate combination of stop signs and hills. So a mile of the worst FE of my morning run wasn't recorded.
Anyway, the 38.2 miles of my morning (downhill) run came in at 39.3 mpg! It's not entirely down to bad odometer setting habits, because the tank has 116.4 miles on it at 35.7 mpg.
Woohoo!

Got my best tank yet in the Vibe going from Taos NM through Great Sand Dunes NP in CO to Pueblo CO. 40 mpg! Granted, part of the trip was DOWNHILL out of the mountains, but all things considered (lots of weight in the car, upper grille block off, some A/C use), I'm pretty happy with it.

I burned less than a gallon of gas this morning!
It's the net downhill run so better mileage is a given. My best so far has been 37.1 on the car's gauge (it jumps in 0.3 increments). Today I put 39.7 miles on the clock and it reads 39.9 mpg. Wooooo!
