Yet for some reason I keep reaching to grab "6th" gear in the Fit, but I don't do that in the Mirage. I'm not sure why.
I do exactly the same thing when I drive the Fit. It feels like I'm cruising around in 4th or 3rd.

Fierce Fit competition

Of course, now that my Fit is tidied up and ready to sell, suddenly there are TWO other Fits for sale in my area! Last time I saw another available here was a couple of years ago!

And they're both the more desirable Sport trim, with working AC...

I actually know where that blue one lives - walk past it almost every day. I've been eyeing it for years. A little old lady with 2 big dogs owns it.

So I may sit on mine for a week and wait for these to clear out. Mine will be a tougher sell with non-functional AC.

(Though I just verified this AM that part of the AC problem may simply been a blown AC clutch relay ... I swapped it with a known good relay and it's now activating, but the air coming out is still barely cooler than ambient, if at all.)

The car had its photoshoot last evening - I always shoot and show vehicles in my folks' driveway because it's a much nicer neighbourhood than mine. Location, location...

Thinking of asking $2400 as is or 2700 with the provincial inspection.

I wonder if the reason I don't do the same thing in the Mirage at the same road speed & RPM is because there are only 3 pops vs 4 in the Fit. Maybe the Mirage sounds less frantic.

In the 'States, the base trim didn't come with cruise control, only the Sport. To me that's the only difference between the two worth paying extra for.

Same here. Cruise is better than AC. We're weirdos though.

And I confirmed our mid trim is your base trim, but with CC. Our base trim was a true poverty special with no AC, no cruise, and manual windows/locks etc. Relatively rare car.

For continuity between my various vehicle threads, here's the reason I decided to flip the Fit sooner than originally planned:

3rd time lucky! Bought yet ANOTHER cheap, 3-cyl Mirage.

HA!

When I got the email alert of a reply, it didn't include the "kmart ship your pants" line.

So at first I thought you were paying homage to Dr. Seuss.

Update: the competition is still hanging around, raining on my parade...

Neither of these cars has sold yet. The black one has been for sale for about 2 weeks, and had the price reduced from $3500 to $3k. The blue one was just listed last Sunday.

This area doesn't appear to be experiencing the used car demand/price boom that I keep reading about.

Those prices are so low. You simply have to buy one. Blue. Not just because of fewer KMs, but also because blue.
