Is it in Hybrid mode? I don't have a scangauge, but I've heard lots of people mention that Hybrid mode stops it shutting off.

Well I changed the SG over to Hybrid mode and it stays on now
My coasts now more than make up for the start up gas then did before but just barely I had to push it to gain any on my tank average. Now I get 2-3x the acceleration loss back

Good job so can you tell any difference with the injectors off and the throttle closed vs throttle open.

I'd be interested to know if you get a CEL after a while of driving like this. If not, I'll be changing my switch over to kill the injectors instead of crankshaft position signal.

What do you mean, push the gas down while the engine is off? Why? On a manual the engine is not turning.

Daox:

No lights have come on my dash- so not CEL.

The beauty of this mod is that all the wires are under the dash (I ran a ground out to the engine but you do not need to).

Ok you are only using it to turn the engine off, at the time of posting I was thinking in gear with the injectors off for some engine breaking.

Today I was driving back from an interview and my engine died. I thought I had bumped the switch but I had not. I hit the switch twice and heard the relay click, himm. I tried a bump start and got it going again. 2 miles later it died and I could not restart. I coasted a mile and pulled over to take a look.

I took off the glove box and everything looked normal bummer no clear issue. I did not have the tools to fix it so I just undid the barrel connectors from the OEM wires and hooked them back together (I am glad I designed it to do that). It fired right up and ran just fine.

Once I got home and took off the suit I went looking for issues. Everything looked fine (no loose connections) and tested out fine (NO and NC circuits were just like they should be). I put tape back on the hole thing and tried it out, it worked just fine.

What is wrong here? Anything? Loose wire on the NC circuit?

Could be a bad contact on the NC side, although I would expect that to fail when you pop it open to coast (ie you wouldn't be able to bump start it after a glide).

Two things would be my first guess. If the wire that runs from the relay to your switch rubs anywhere metal, it might rub through the sheath and ground out. This would be intermittent and hard to catch, depending on how it happened. The other possibility is the switch got stuck - with that long neck, if the switch isn't centered it will activate the button, even if it's not depressed. I had to over-drill the hole by quite a bit (maybe a full mm larger than the button all the way around, or 2mm diameter) to make sure this wouldn't happen. I had the same issue when I built a case for my MPGuino.

Well after a few days of driving it has not done it again. I took a look at all the connections so I might have fixed a loose one without knowing it.

Thanks for the ideas!
