I'm in the process of installing a similar mod on my matrix. Which color wire was it that you cut into?

Its a black/ white wire right after the ECU mulit connector. I have a pic above with the OEM and then my addons. if needed I can take some more pics.

Im not sure, Tomorrow I will go pull the glove box off and i can tell you the pin out slot I cut into.
Its been 4 years since I messed with it. except for a tactic switch going bad Its been almost issue free

Well, it seems like the right one, I just snipped it with the engine running and it sputtering out.

thats the other way of testing, now put some plugs on the ends and and pull it apart and as it starts to die, push it back and if the rpms are above about 500 it will fix its self and keep running

Oh, don't go to any work for me. I think I've got it. I'll install the relay on this wire and see how it goes.

This is not the point of the mod, but I was curious about this too. There is very little if any noticeable difference as to engine breaking, but it's hard to tell. The engine makes more noise and vibration with WOT. Feeling that while flooring it makes it seem like the car is doing something different but it's probably all in my head.
