I think Phil means this hard edge here, air coming from the sides is going to want to get on top, and the hard edge will cause a flow separation when it does. If it was rounded it would follow the contour and remain attached.

In addition, cross winds will create a problem as well if this is not a rounded shape.

Here is something I found interesting. Not sure if someone here on this site made this or not, if so THANK YOU! It's pretty cool to watch.
VT247

Stock is listed first.

With an air spoiler 2nd.

Third is a partial Kamm Dam Kammback

Lastly is air flow with a full Kammback, which is what I'm trying for.

Was getting 45.81 MPG last tank. This tank @ the same distance (@365 miles) and fill up level but with the kammback, 48.52 mpg. Thats 2.71 more miles per gallon. About a 6% increase. Drive different routes so I guess it's not 100% accurate. Seems to help coast downs for sure! The cold weather isn't helping much. Little engine takes forever to finally get to operating temp now.

No, it's down right now. Think I need a new fuel filter and blow the lines out. Hopefully it's not the injector pump but I'm pretty sure it's not. It won't start! Probably air in the line. I've primed the lines but still see air bubbles in there. Drove it home one night from work and it shut off. Primed it and made it home. Got my friends van out of my garage finally. Agreed to fix it but he wouldn't spend the money to buy the parts needed to fix. So it had to get out of my garage so I can work on the Tempo. Will keep everything up to date after tuft testing is done. = )

The only issue is if you do not have two mirrors, at least in North Carolina. I can't find anything that says the glass can't be blocked. There are box trucks a plenty that can't look out the back glass. I wouldn't want to test my luck though. Lowes has acrylic for a pretty decent price, so I am going to try that. I've got a friend in law enforcement, so I will pick his brain this weekend.

Law enforcement gives me the same look everyone else does like, WTF? Still have it on there! Still holding on strong, wind, ice, water and rain.
Got the Caprice in the garage awaiting engine removal for the 6.2 Diesel conversion.
Need to get the Tempo back in the garage to add the sheet metal and paint. The multi tone rust, maroon, grey and duct tape is a little much.
