Do you have the results of the add yet? I am really curious about this as I am getting ready to pursue it on my car.

I'm seeing about a 6-7% gain in my fuel mileage. In retrospect, think I raised the back up to much from the original design. But hey, it's a $20 project and I went on sight alone for the angle. Gives the car a whole new feel too. For example, when a semi would pass me going the other way on a 2 lane road. After the trailer would pass without the kammback it would create a noticable turbulance and jerk the whole car. Now with the kammback, it's not nearly as forceful. Real advantage is in coast down, which I'm working on too. Going to get some yarn and tape to try tuft testing sometime soon.

Sadly, no one has been able to guess what it is yet. Most common response, 'I thought you're back glass was busted out.' Nope, lol!

Is it safe to say that a 6-7 % gain in mileage translates into a drag reduction of about 13 % ?

Sweet, now to wait for a good, dry day to try mine. I am finally replacing all the duct tape test parts with plastic. Oh well, it is fun to insult the preppy high schoolers when they point and laugh. God help this generation coming up. Anyway, time to get out the cardboard and lexan and get to taping. I'll be sure to post my results soon.

Great informative post, I'm planning a similar mod with my corolla. Was going to make a short kammback, but now I think I'll go the full length as long as I can see out my rear window ok for direct behind traffic.

While you're at it, take a look and see about cleaning up the flow under the rear bumper. By the way where do you keep your spare tire now? Does the rear seat fold down?

No spare tire. Don't think I ever had one when I got the car. I did have to replace the battery over the winter. Thought my battery was bad, turned over slowly. Turns out it was my fairly new starter, took it back to O'reilly auto parts and got a new one under warrenty. Had to remove the back seat to get to the battery.
