I've been waiting for these headlights to go on sale before I dropped the cash on them...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And today, cooincidentily on "Prime Day", they dropped $20! So I grabbed them, plus all new lights for the headlights assemblies (so turns and all the marker lights... I replaced the marker lights with cheap LEDs originally, but was wanting to replace them soon anyways.) I also got the resistors to change out the relay bar so no hyper blink. Hopefully that works.

The rest wasn't on sale, but if I'm going to drop the bumper to get to the headlights and turns, I might as well get it all done in one shot!

Otherwise, waiting on a hookup for a 5' x 1' sheet of aluminum to complete the exhaust cover. I need to get a 3' x 3' piece of chloroplast to get the rear buttoned up, then the belly will be as aerodynamic as I can get it!

Oh, one last bit of good news is that Darkfish (on IC.net) seems to be making the plug-and-play FAS module again, so hopefully that will be in my short-term future.

it says the same for me, but I don't always trust that fitment guide. Figure, it's the right bulb type, so it's worth a try. I'll let ya know either way after this weekend!

The difficulty lies in the boots that go over the back of the bulb, they may not make a seal, but there's plenty of space.

Had a friend hook me up with some spare aluminum. Wasn't as thin as I was wanting, but it worked all the same.

I'm no sheet metal cutter, lol. But, I was able to cut out for the front mount, the cat, the resonator, and the rear mount. Eventually, I'll build some proper covers that will attach to the rest of the aluminum for those.

Part of my pan is finally starting to disattach, and I actually had almost this exact thing in mind for my repair/replacement. I'll probably bend the aluminum so it bulges over the exhaust, though.

OK, So I changed out my cheap front marker LEDS from Old to New (and New). First, the front marker difference... (passenger side = cheaper LED, drivers side = new one)

Here's what it projects...

Wow! Quite the difference!

Side marker time... (both front markers changed to the brighter version at this point)

Before...

After...

Passenger = old, Drivers = new

So yeah, a worthy difference!

Power wise? old ones used 1.14w and new ones are 1.677 and 1.798 watts (amber and white, respectively). So not a lot more draw for a ton more light! WIN!

Those new ones look nice!

How hard is it to replace them? If you have to remove the light I'll keep my OEM bulbs, at least until winter when I get time to work on the car

I did it in about 10-15 minutes in my drive way without any tools (would be like 5 minutes if I wasn't doing pics!). You have to remove the coolant canister from the driver's side for the amber side light and the other amber side is kinda tricky, but other wise, they are all 1/8th turn of the socket, pull it out, swap the bulbs, put it back in, and 1/8th turn to reseat it in. That's it!

One trick I found to make the passenger side easier on the side amber is to use two hands... right hand trying to turn the bottom angled end of the socket, which the left hand has a few fingers between the headlight assembly and the frame of the car to push it in place against the headlight assembly itself. This is especially so when putting it back in.

With my 400w coolant heater (factory Honda kind) and 4" x 5" Kat's heat pad on the oil pan at 150w, I decided to take some temps and graph it this morning, using the SGII. Here's what I found...

Ran out of time, wish I could have gone 2-3 hours, but gives you an idea of what's going on. Outside temp was about 59*F.

Also, I have been testing the Opt7 LED Headlight. But I'll save all that up for 1 full post.
