Was asking my brothers about his. Brother in TX believed that his Downward Foil above the rear window kept the window clean, and help slightly with the MPG. Lost the data.

How about this spoiler? I recently removed mine to see if there is any noticeable difference, but unfortunately I did this along with some other modifications, so I'm not sure if the spoiler alone decreased gas mileage. It looks really good on these cars. What do you think, function or style?

I'd leave it.If is doesn't impact mpg,it will help mitigate hydroplaning in a rain storm.

Cobalts are usually front wheel drive- a Bonneville one may be rear.

I thought some that raised up a little, when from the trunk, can help.
I am rather curious about mine, but I wouldn't replace it. The only thing I would do would be to remove it, and replace it with one of these:

Most rear-deck spoilers only become 'effective' at speeds of about 100 mph or greater, and if you're driving at that speed you're obviously NOT worrying about fuel economy.

I gotta do something about my Magnum's rear spoiler, I think. I noticed two fairly fast-spinning vortices behind me, the last time I drove down the interstate in a rainstorm. Not especially a good sign.

What post is this a response to? Mine, Superluminal, or someone else?
I am still curious about the link I posted regarding a spoiler/lip potentially being helpful- if anyone thinks mine fits that. I looked a bit into the alternate spoilers, basically flat, but I did not learn much. |

I was hoping Darin would chime in, I think he is one of the individuals who mentioned that a slight upword lip (like the diagram, or my vehicle) can have a positive affect. I wasn't able to get anything from the other forum on the flat/bonneville style spoilers.
