Go figure.

The "City" has actually hired a firm to promote the city and drag all these bastids here. Taxpayer funded. Love that socialism.

I can't remember enough to find it, but there's this country song about having to move West again that went "Time to move there's too many people, why, just yesterday I saw a Church steeple."

Piece of cake when money is your only criteria.

So perhaps the question is, for what reasons are they staying?

EDIT: My wife's family has an interesting (to me) issue. They all live in a fairly blighted part of Detroit. None of them want to move because they want to stay near family, but all of them say they would move if it weren't for that.

Not where I live...

Downtown of my little city, taken last week... ain't nobody here but us viruses!

When my folks moved the family here from Toronto in the mid-80's, the population was 21k. It's still 21k. Like a lot of Canadian/U.S. cities, the big factories and good manufacturing jobs went away in the 90's/00's, so the council started marketing to lure retirees away from nearby bigger cities -- cash in your big city real estate and live some place quiet & inexpensive. Seems to be working?

Nope, not too far! I've sailed a couple of times on Lake Champlain on the VT side. Very nice.
