I see a few of these trucks everyday on my way to work. The sloping roof screams aero to me. Follows the template to almost 30%. Can't be, right?
Bringing back an old post, but the link is dead, I'm interested in what car was that and nobody mentions anything that would let me find more about it.
Can anyone help?

BTW, the rule that new users can't post links even in accurate quotes is overreaching.

Old link was a random google image found picture. So is this one, we'll see if it lasts.

I don't think I ever found any more information though.

"Isuzu Spray Truck" finds some for sale... no mention of the body maker that I have found yet.

Coincidence. The taper starts late and there is no taper in plan. Square edges? Thee Template is a cruel mistress.

This would also work for any " larger than cab " stile of bed / box. Eg Ambulance, flatbed, utilitie beds ect...
1 more mod I will surely throw in would add ?
Inflatable corners on the front of the box .
However in snow country frozen snow and ice could buildup on the outside of the inflatable. Blocking the door from operating

Don't know that I'd go so far as to say coincidence. While plan taper would certainly help, the roofline is surely buying something.

Seems to be working for Don Bur:

They claim 11.3% fuel savings. Even if it's half that, the roofline is doing quite a bit.

A lot more camber in the roof, and a 'fairly' well faired-in undercarriage. They might get half that. It's hard to ignore the excentric hub on that second axle.

gumby79 -- I've always thought you could cut a wedge-shaped 3/4 door frame out of a donor at a wrecking yard and have the door close on that. Problem solved.

I think it's a tag axle, for running empty.Notice the daylight under the other side's wheel.

With 'Kamm's' research at the FKFS,the roofline camber as the only variable, was responsible for reducing the drag of a wing-like body from Cd 0.70,to Cd 0.21,a 70% drag reduction.

I'm sure these two entries are not controversy free, but I see some merit in them.
