We have seen vintage photos of this vehicle before, but this model exposes us to some new views.

5:06 'Ticket window'.
It's nice and all, but there's something hanging down next to the left rear tire. Needs rear fender skirts.

Right, I've seen and posted that image before self.
What I meant to say was Pill bug Mercedes rear engine - known.
Persu has various packaging layouts on various cars including a horizontally opposed Boxer flat engine in the middle of the car and under the seats.
If the seating turntable was not a feature in that earlier image, then could one scheme with a Patent accommodate and be planned for as a flat radial engine...............is what I was trying to get at.
The three theories for the circle in plan are:
1. Simply a structural feature, a circle in lieu of a wishbone or "X" cross framing common back in the day.
2. A seating turntable fitment point (like a gun turret).
3. A structural opening intended for under floor pan cooling/access for a mid-engine.........might be a flat Boxer engine (A), might be a flat radial engine (B), might even be a battery pack location for an electric version (C), the options are dependent on your imagination (E to be named).

Plenty of experimental vehicles have achieved this level of streamlining before, but what makes the SIM LEI different is that it's a car you could actually see a small family using as its primary vehicle. Or at least in Japan, where small cars are already the norm. The car is unusually long for its width, in order to accommodate cargo and further reduce its air resistance.

I remember that one. The anti-intrusion bars are on the outside of the doors so as to make them thinner.
