Interesting.

https://jhpusa.com/products/spoon-mo...hard-top-s2000

Quote:

Designed and developed by Mooncraft Racing team. The concept is to improve aero dynamic effect during mid to high speeds. Spoon's Racing team has tested in Super Taikyu Race series comparing with Mugen hardtop which Spoon had been using, the Spoon coupe top has achieved 5-15km/hr & more during straight line and turns.

The Mooncraft hard coupe top is a 2-piece design and is made from lightweight FRP for superior strength and quality.

Vehicle application: 00-09 S2000

Recommended for race use only.

With this seating arrangement, come on, it's got to be "Aero".

Three seats on a turntable? Is that so you can change drivers without anyone having to get up?

It is a feature similar to the Schlorwagen:

edit:
Looking for that I found this:

http://www.washedashore.com/projects.../jones_patent/

Patented in 1934, contemporaneous with the Dymaxion. It's a leaner. The drawing in the lower left shows the displacement of the wheels in cornering.

The awkwardness of getting to the central position would be eased by the turntable for sure, I've never added it up before - thanks.

Back when I first discovered the plan image with the big circle in it I recall being puzzled by it. Now it all makes perfect sense.

That has a lot more done to it than just a top being added. Sweet looking though.

Reminds of this. Which is mine. And for sale.

Except it doesn't? The side view shows three-row seating. The Jones patent does show the trailing wheel tracking the outside front.
