By law here I need one outside mirror.
I have removed my passenger side mirror a week after I got my car and never missed it. I can just turn my head around and look. You cant do that with a pickup and a trailer. I removed my drivers side mirror and couldn't see good enough to be considered safe.(regardless of the law)

I am working (slowly) on a boat tail and will sacrifice rear vision for better Aero. I need to replace the rear vision I am losing. I am going to get that smaller outside mirror I posted a picture of in this thread, put it outside on the drivers side and get these good interior mirrors. Hopefully that will be enough. If not I will add more interior mirrors. If that isn't good enough I will add an outside mirror to the passenger side. (both equal about the same frontal area of one stock mirror) If that isn't good enough I will get a camera system.

Well in my case the answer IS yes. If you look on the Silver's build thread I replace both of my side mirrors with interior mirrors. I don't have the same concerns about towing that the others have. I like them much better than OEM for view angles around my blind spots. I have 4 mirrors firmly fixed and thats more than meet the requirements in my state. I carry a copy of it in my glove box in case I need to review it with someone

Driver's mirror folded in...

Passenger's mirror folded in...

Edge mirrors on the driver's folded mirror...

Clip-on mirror on the passenger's folded mirror...

Interior view of the clip-on mirror...

I'll only be folding in the mirrors when I'm doing long drives and clipping on the clip-on mirror at that time. During my local runs, the both exterior mirrors will be folded out to their normal positions. I'm not sure how well the small mirrors will do in inclement weather but I will guess they won't be of much help and I'll have to fold my mirrors back out.

I see you took the same path as I did...

I didn't like how the vertical mirror turned out on mine so that's why I went horizontal. I may add another mirror on top of that giving me 3 mirrors on the edge of the folded driver's mirror.

Haha yeah the vertical mirror ended up being kind worthless. I was thinking about adding a 2nd matching interior mirror on the passenger side at the other screw slot. I think that would give me adequate vision without the extrior mirror on most ocassions.

I would really try a mirror on the outside as you need that angle to see along the side of the truck.

I'm going to be experimenting with printed cases for Raspberry Pi cameras (which are quite small) for my next daily and race car instead of using mirrors altogether.

I've been testing a Pi (Model B) long term as a media server and have had zero issues with it being run for more than 12 hours a day every day for the past few years, so I'm not really worried about that aspect of it; it's the little HDMI 7" monitors I bought from Ebay that have had issues, but I'm sure I can figure another way around that before long.

Image quality is quite good (https://vimeo.com/68099584), plus you can view live on the monitor AND save the capture to a raw h.264 file (making it small) in real time; I intend on having 4 of these going and feeding a carputer with data when the time comes.

Have you considered this as an option?

Nice job!
Here is the thread of mine that I did 3 years ago with Pilot Automotive mirrors. I also took off my mirrors.

http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/easy-mirror-delete-mod-20871.html

Pilot Automotive have different shape mirrors. So far I've seen the ones you have, circular shaped (currently have installed), and rectangle shaped mirrors (currently have but not installed).

I have fooled with interior mirrors and haven't had much luck with them. They are usually too small and too curved. The best interior setup I have used has been the old, superwide Wink mirrors. Ugly as Hell but panoramic view of the rear and sides.
