Just picked up one and I really like it. I'm gonna pick up one for the other side on the way home

I found several references to mounting gauges and such on the A-pillar panel and mounting on the lower third to avoid the curtain bags in there. The panels are held by spring clips. The bags seem to be designed to push the panels out of the spring clip holds when deployed. I may try clamping to the panel on the passenger side instead of mounting through it on mine. Maybe a longer gooseneck stem to get the mirror closer to the side glass.

I took the mounting system apart and mounted it through the A pillar trim. I pulled the trim off to see what I could mount it to in case there was a threaded nut I could use to mount a bracket to and then mount the mirror arm to that. I ended up marking and then screwing the arm into the A pillar trim.

Nobody really answered this, but could you remove your outside sideview mirrors and replace them with these on the inside?

I adjusted things a bit more and zip tied the mirror to the handle for better rigidity. I calculated about 30' is when traffic appears in the driver side.

I would say on a vehicle where you will be using a trailer that it would not be advisable to do so. I would not want to be without the option of my regular mirrors if I had a full load in back and a 12' trailer attached. I would say they are good enough for cruising around with though, especially if you have any kind of rear view mirror. You will have to try it and see what you're comfortable with, and what suits your personal needs though

I guess it depends on how much you depend on yer mirror angle of view. By removing the outside mirrors and just using the blind spot mirror to see rearward, you will miss out on the view along side yer vehicle and back. Because the exterior mirror is outside, it provides that angle of view that the interior blind spot mirror can never achieve. I personally didn't feel comfortable with the outside mirror (folded in in my case) view missing especially when I was trying to back up.

Not legally. So far,'other' mirrors are replacing OEM units with some members, and they're augmenting these with interior units for added safety.
You need to know your driving environment at all times.Saving fuel isn't worth your property, that of others, and health/life.

I completely agree. When I asked the question, I meant are they suitable replacements for outside mirrors, hence why I didn't ask if it was legal or not :P.
Now that I see the responses, I'll take that as a no.
