I believe your on the wrong site, I know there are several people here that drive under the speed limit. For myself, the road has a means to pass, and is only illegal if I'm holding up traffic when there is no way to pass. I believe the law says either 3 or 5 cars.

@Weather Spotter

I'll do some research, I found with my dad's security cam setup, having one computer based is a good thing, since if you ever need to use the video for evidence, you can hand them a CD, instead of the entire machine....

M-30 is a crazy road, had a tailgater on my mom just 30 mins ago going 60mph and the guy behind them passed us both.

This is my car -> Details: 97 Corolla - 1997 Toyota Corolla DX Fuel Economy - EcoModder.com

Not really modded much, since them photos, it has a lower grill block at ~40% (need to up to 80% for winter again), and 1/2 my wheels have wheel covers. Everything is painted black now so no one really notices, before they were white, everyone saw it and laughed, most people think I'm poor trying to make my car look cool with the hubcaps, then I explain they are for a function. I just picked up some stencils today, so I'll have to do some painting on my car to give people an idea what is going on, been wanting to for a while, just never looked too hard for the stencils... now I need white paint.. hmmmm

@Weather Spotter
that law don't apply here when farm tractors hold up 10+ cars on passless hills

there is no law I know of in MI about holding up traffic. on the road you are referring too, you can be doing 10 over and have a string of cars on your tail at that point I stop being concerned about my speed and have fun getting good MPG. but my car is more apparent why I am doing it.

Driving below the speed limit doesn't exempt you from obeying the law.

@tjts1

The stretch of road I drive does not have any of them signs or places to pull of to the side. However, I have seen and used them on the same road, but further north.

@weather spotter

There is a law I saw relating to impeding traffic, I don't remember if it related to holding up traffic stopped, or moving though.

Real Time MPG Display on back of car???

I was wondering, anyone try some sort of feed from the Scan Gauge etc. to show a real time display of current MPG in nice LEDs to all of the drivers behind? Maybe in the back window, or on the trunk?

I remember changeable, scrollable LED displays that people had inside their rear windows in the 1980s...

Alternatively, I was thinking about putting 'official' sounding words on the back of my car regarding Fuel Economy Testing...

"Test Load - Not for Hire"
(we use those at work for our test fleet trucks and trailers).

"MPG Test vehicle"

"Fuel Econ Test in Progress"

and then of course there is the classic

Yosemite Sam "Back Off" (but not on MPG killing mud flaps of course...)

I personally like these signs, should stand out well . I also though about the "MPG Test Vehicle" too.
