I usually just flip my rearview mirror down so I do not see them behind me. If thiers an area with a LONG shoulder, I'll pop it into neutral, flip on the hazards, signal them to pass, and coast in the shoulder until everyone passes.

For people with bright lights at night, I usually wiggle my side mirror and shine thier own lights back in thier faces. I also keep sunglasses on top of my head and flip them down when bright lights coming.

When driving that slow I highly recommend a dash cam. I know you get good mileage, but is it worth the risk? Pissing the wrong person off. Try going up to 55 until you find a nice long shoulder where people can pass as you coast.

Why can't they just let ps2fixer do his own thing? Maybe, you know, have some courtesy for people that don't drive the way you do.

You did - and so am I I just decided the simplest and least spendy solution worked best. Originally it was a temp solution but it has kind of lasted and worked well for £0.00 outlay.

I think you are kind of both saying the same thing, but differently.

Or maybe I missed something vital.

Both ideas are the same, getting a camera in the car , just both are different ways of doing it.

@campisi

I pull off the road for semis, and drive faster than my wanted speed (50mph instead of 45mph were my best mileage is). If it is really foggy or heavy rain I travel at 55mph to imitate the "average" speed that most people should be going, and the fact viability is low and passing is really a large risk. Of course if it is really bad, I'll go at a speed I feel safe traveling.

If I was being an "ahole" about it, I wouldn't keep a solid speed while driving, ride on or over the center line, race the person when they pass, and basically try to cause an accident.

Arragonis- I read campisi's post as telling ps2fixer that he, and not the tailgaters, was being the asshole and should modify his behavior. I was turning it around and asking why the tailgaters couldn't show a little courtesy.

Charlie: It would be nice if they would, but the only persons actions he has control over is his own. Driving 10 under on a relatively buisy road that can be hazardous to pass is causing a hazard. 5 under isn't so bad, but it can still be irritating to others. Some will tailgate no matter how fast he is driving and there is nothing practical other than letting them by or getting out of their way that will aleviate that fact. This isn't an ideal world, and expecting people to do what you expect or what they should do just isn't going to happen.

Not too long ago I had a bad tailgater we were doing just under to just above the speed limit on a windy mountain road. As soon as I could I got out of the way and let them by. Less than 1 mile later they got pulled over, we had a good laugh at their expense.

I agree, just wish more would pass when they is 1 mile + of no traffic lol.

The only time I had something like that happen is when I was behind a van going slow (b4 ecomodder days, so probably 50-55mph) and the guy behind us couldn't wait the 1/2 mile to pass, so they passed in the left turn lane in a school zone and probably was speeding. Well, the one behind them passed as well, after they both got buy everyone.... lights came on and we had fun passing them .

Anybody caught purposely holding up traffic, not using turn outs, not using the slow lane or driving below the speed limit should be shot on the spot, no questions asked.

M-30 traffic is mostly people in a hurry and stupid people. get a camera rig, if it works I might copy it for my car.

how modded is your car? can people tell why you are going slowly? from personal experience it helps. get a ecomodder or hypermiler sticker.
