http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...able-6914.html if you can live with a pigtail for the wires, otherwise the connection pins are on order. And we will go get some pins if the queue backs up.

I looked up wire gauge amp capacity and even a 28 ga. wire will carry an amp, unless it's enclosed in some kind of conduit (or maybe inside a hot engine bay), in which case 26 ga. will do it. I have 20 ga. wire so I think I'm covered.

Sorry - I might be bringing way too much detail to the project - but being not even semi-educated in electronics I thought I'd better ask rather than make an asssumption.
Phone cord does work, I am using it now with my pre-built. I thought I should post and let everyone know the VSS signal (actually an output speed signal) in the 07 Dodge RAM 1500 is not strong enough to trigger the MPGuino. However, I rigged up a DIY optical sensor on my driveshaft with a 12v peanut bulb and an IR photosensor and am getting a signal that is working. Yes, I went the long way around to get this working, but here's hoping this helps others out...

update, we have lots of pins now but are low on regulators as they were backordered.

Some hardware changes:
switched to the low power LCD from newhaven.
Max draw is 40ma vs 80ma = significantly less heat created.
Draw on low setting is 27ma vs 40. mid setting is 34ma vs 60ma
450 ohm backlight resistor instead of 82 ohm resistor for appropriate v-drop.
larger electrolytic capacitor (470uf instead of 330uf).

Since my car is too old for a scangauge, I'd love to get one of these. The trouble is I'd have no idea how to set it up. Electronic stuff is my weak point.

The metro has been pretty well covered. I hope more folks will take pictures of the connection points and make pages for their vehicles.

I think your order must have gotten absorbed into a long weekend. I'll Give amy a ping for yah, she mentioned being an order behind, it should go together today or tomorrow. It's usually delivered within a week but we've had a few issues w/parts and have been on vacation/etc.

In another post you mentioned you switched to a 20Mhz xtal.
Is the code switched over to use the 20Mhz xtal vs the 16Mhz one?

I'm building my own from scratch and just want to 'load the code and go'.

thanks,
Dave

Edit: Found your post and indeed you switched to 20Mhz. Did the oscillator bypass caps have to change value when you went to 20Mhz?
