Those sound like good variable names. I did global for everything at first because I wasn't sure what I wanted to be local, and I didn't want to re-initialize variables each time. It's a practice that old school 3d video game programmers, a la Andree Lamothe, did in the late 80's & early 90s.
I believe the interrupts are re-enabled by resetting the SREG register to what it was before disabling interrupts, rather than using sti(). It works in the simulator, as far as I can tell, but in the car, even the high pedal lockout isn't working! I think there is a fundamental problem with the old hardware from the blown up control section. Voltage spikes are now much worse in the control section than when I first tested it on the first controller that blew up. I really don't think the software is all to blame. I can't really do much until I get a new oscilloscope, which will be very soon, either by a friend that's checking on some for me, or by getting another on Ebay.

Hey edown! I WAS thinking of getting a USB oscilloscope... Weird... I wasn't sure how good they are, but I bet they work well.

Using the REPO BROWSER is the way to work DIRECTLY on the server. You are not supposed to do that normally ...
It sounds like you skipped the first part of the how to I've sent you: SVN CHECKOUT. The option you are looking for (COMMIT) appears only in "special" local directories that you create using checkout. Check this out  :

Thanks, Charlie. I think I get it now. Before I was checking out, which was making that directory with the little green thing on it, but I wasn't going in there. I was just then trying to send the project from where I was working on it.
Oh the humanity... I soldered on a big capacitor on the output of the DC-DC, which made the signal cleaner. The oscilloscope sort of healed itself, but is still really flickery. It's days may be numbered. The control section had a bad mosfet driver, and now it has other bad stuff too. It's just acting strange. I need a new control section! Fortunately, the 3 control section boards are all done, and are on their way to the engineer for assembly and testing.

That usually works, but it is only necessary when enabling interrupts from within a function that is going to be called from both interrupt enabled code and interrupt disabled code.

Speaking of HAL (well, hell. haha!), want to hear a funny story, Intrigued? Our church decided to have another service at a movie theater near my house, so it's easier to go there since it's so close. They have it in the same room that they show "Drag Me To Hell"! haha. So, when people are looking for the right room, the usher people say, "Oh it's in the drag me to hell room"
haha!
