It shouldn't be like that, with MPGuino going nuts over bumps. Check VSS cables, from the sensor to the dashboard and MPGuino. You've mentioned before that you gest VSS signal from ABS sensor, right?...

I haven't worked on this for quite awhile, but here is the version I am using - it does have the feature you want, I think.
I don't know about the clock crystal, probably it will work fine.
