I cant believe GM's situation. It is scary seeing there stock under $10 a share. I like the idea of a new thread once we hit $150+

On, a side note. I get a lot of my oil price information form a peak oil message board on this thread:

Peak Oil News >> Forums >> Current Energy News >> Another Record ($145.85)

and the old thread (172 Pages!) where oil went from
$76.70 on 8 September 2007 to $143.67 on 30 June 2008.

Oil has been dropping today. It is at $135 right now. I guess this ia a market correction to the rapid increase. It might take a few weeks to build back up to +$145.

I guess I was wrong. It didn't take a few weeks. It took a few days. Oil just hit a new record of $147.27

Oil futures hit record high of $147.27 a barrel on Globex - MarketWatch

Ooh well; I know I've said this before; but I think this next fill may be my last tank of Petro Diesel.

After that I'll be gunning for$200 rather than $150

I think pump prices are fluctuating locally, reflecting the roller coastering of the barrel price. At my station (I think our city is still the highest in America), the price dropped last week from 4.599 to 4.519 and is still there (which is what I paid for today).

It'll take a while to reach $200/barrel though I guess it all depends on what everyone else does. I know that "trickle" will hurt like hell when it does arrive.

Almost $150 a barrel? And to think that it seems not that long ago that I was freaking out when it was still in the high 70-dollar range...
