1996 Toyota Camry (new fuel economy record)
Drove from Atlanta, GA to Orlando, FL and then to Ocala, FL on one tank.
Total Millage: 530 miles
Total Fuel used: 15 G
Average speed: 60 mph
Total: 35.3 MPG
I can't believe I pulled this off. The best before this was just around 29MPG and that was combined city and highway with FE techniques. This was just keeping to the right lane with cruise control set to 100KM/h for 8 hours. To put this in perspective, last time I went to Florida, I drove about 80mph the whole way there and managed just over 25MPG for the trip.

Very nice job. Saved almost $20 on that one trip alone and 120# of CO2.

Hello there my mechanical twin! I just pulled 35.5 out of my '95 camry yesterday and was quite stoked to look at the highs in your fuel log. Please share any modifications you have done/are doing to your Camry.
Following vehicles at a reasonable distance has always really helped my mileage. Just a month ago I was averaging over 30 mpg doing 80-90 mph on the way to Charlotte, NC. I was following quite the caravan of conversion and mini-vans. They corridor effected the highway by themselves I'm sure.

Nice job! I always knew Camrys were good at FE, but 35mpg! WOW! That's right up there with my old Focus at that same speed.
