Some may find some of this familiar as I have been kicking the idea around for a few years, this set up was originally for Insight, then was going into civic, but since I had the time I pulled off the Insight swap after all, car is running and registered, about to install Del Sol gauge cluster, tint and alarm and get it retuned, from then on I will be racking up miles and seeing what I can actually get away with.... this is definitly about having cake and eating it too

It's been a bit of work but I'm finally putting some miles on her....... mixed emotions as while this is a very capable car when driven aggressively the car is a bit of a bear in the normal traffic duties..... I sent my money to Evans Tuning for his expert help..... EP3/RSX K20a3 Hondata base maps have many of features turned off and the only way to do things like change speedometer is to start with the K20a2 maps, this is getting done and I also need to figure out why my scangauge2 isn't reading the ecu..... I did have to run one wire to the OBD2 port for emissions so maybe I need another....
so far on 3 consecutive tanks (longest ever) I'm averaging 33 mpg +/- 3%, meh

I imagine you drive a lot faster than I do. I have cold weather to contend with, but the vast majority of my driving is 35-45mph. Fuel economy starts to drop above ~45-50mph.

I definitely earn the badge “lead foot” and the honeymoon phase of this car has been pretty fun.... that said, I did drive with a scangauge2 for years in my swapped EP3 on the same commute and long story short that’s how I found ecomooder..... I just signed up for a group buy on a $500 3.4 final drive which will allow for 2600rpm @80 but better yet 2300 @70 which is just below the 12v vtec threshold..... I’ll eventually do a tank or two in strict hyper mile mode but it will be interesting to see what my best tank/month/year would look like

I have some numbers....... all with AC ON
Commuting and daily life driving with no consideration to MPGs ........
31mpg per tank
Commuting and daily driving with all considerations for MPGs without impeding traffic...
35mpg per tank
Driving to LA and back 80-90mph average ........ 39 MPGs
This is with in the first 3000 miles so I still have a ways before my numbers mean anything but this is not a bad start, now I hope to improve the numbers and maybe slow down a little bit too.

Wow, 11.5:1? Is that a JDM block?
Do you have electronic wastegate control? If not opening the wastegate might get you 1mpg. You could have a manual wastegate control cable in the cabin.

It's an a3 head on an a2 block... A3 head will give any K20a2 piston an additional .5cr due to smaller CC.
It's only @5.5psi so the easiest way to drive no boost is by light throttle. The car can be driven fast as a civic without hitting boost.

Were I to do it again, this is probably how I would build mine. "Downsized" K20 and a small turbo. Phenomenal. With taller gearing, I bet mid 40's is achievable at those speeds - which is nearly what a stock Insight gets when driving that fast.
