On a road trip yesterday noticed something rather odd.
at 70mph i was cruising at 17.9-18.2 inches of vacuum with tps values from 10-12% returning 38.5-43mpg on flat level ground
at 82mph I was cruising at 18.8-19.1 inches of vacuum with tps values from 14-16% returning 40-42mpg on flat level ground
I tested this multiple times, back to back. no change in temperature, elevation, or wind.
cam phase advance was set at 10 the entire time.
Perhaps there is some sort of standing wave forming in the intake? bad tuning? who knows.

After calculating the hp required for each speed Here
It is not entirely surprising that the 12mph increase has so little impact on MPG for such an aerodynamic car.
15.5 hp required for 70mph
22.9 hp required for 82mph

Is your car a CVT? 70mph MPG seems kind of low.

No, it’s a 200hp 2.4L engine paired with a transmission which was already short when it was in a car with 17 inch rims. Pretty great mpg considering.

I'm hoping to still get 60+ with mine, with absurdly tall gearing.

ya, I need a 6th gear lol.
This is a crude calculation. I would like to do some testing and plot mpg vs speed in this graph as well

When I plug those number into the EM fuel economy tool--keeping the other default assumptions unchanged-- I get a horsepower need of just 7.56 at 60 miles per hour. Your graph seems to show about 10 horsepower needed at 60 miles per hour. Is there something I'm missing about your calculation? Different assumptions?
