Do you think it could make the same difference in my bare metal back portions? I stripped the back for max cargo area. All bare metal. The road noise is a PITA, tbh.
Also, add under carpet deadening?

In my car just the mat was quieter than with the interior in place.

Carpet or not, this stuff makes a large difference.
I would recommend having something over the sound deadening material especially if you are using the area for cargo. It is a sticky Butyl rubber backed in aluminum (similar to aspht roofing tape) and is not tough in the slightest when it comes to scrapes and gouges.
As a side note, u-seal from home depot, or peel and seal from lows works very well as an under Carpet sound deadener and functions in the exact same way. The roofing tape is much thinner and may require 2 layers to be as effective. I would be a little hesitant on mounting on vertical surfaces because I do not know how well the adhesive will stand up over time. It does work very well on floorboards though!

I just picked up a second cam phaser for machining. I would like to be able to adjust up to 45° as apposed to the stock 25°
I should be able to pick up a decent amount of mid range torque and possibly better overall mpg as well. We will have to see.
Also, while browsing I came across some fuel efficiency testing performed by Super street online back in 2005.
Fuel Economy Tuning - Tech Review - Honda Tuning Magazine
All testing was done at a set speed and load 65mph (3000 rpm) on a dyno
Nothing here is super surprising, but is great to see the data regardless.
This was done on the smaller k20, but should be pretty comparable to the k24 that I am running .
Ofcourse I will perform independent tests, but it acts a great starting point.

Its just a stock TSX cam phaser (same as the K24A4 accord and the K24A1 CRV, and the base RSX)
I will be throwing it up in the mill and milling it myself.
Technically i could just run the 50deg phaser from the newer Si, or the RSX-S (K20A2, K20Z3, ect)
On the 04-05 K24A2 clearances are very tight and one mi**** could cause disaster @50. the 06+ have a larger cutout in the piston and "should" be safe with the stock cam.
I may change to a larger cam in the future so I will play it safe at either 40 or 45 degrees
will remove the sharpied part for reference

The baseline is with the stock tune if I'm not mistaken. I am also assuming the test were done one at a time. I dont think they combined all 3 to see what could be achieved, otherwise I'm sure they would have posted it.

Interesting. Mine is an 04-05 TSX motor, and I just ordered one of the 50 degree ones. I couldn't find any specifics and assumed the earlier motors would have more, rather than less clearance because they have less aggressive cams.
I notice there are pins you can buy which limit them to 40 or 45 degrees. You'd strongly recommend I get a set?

You "can" limit it by the ecu, however the pins are cheap. I wouldn't risk it.

Got a cheap set of limiting pins on eBay from Bulgaria, just stick 'em in the actuator and they mechanically limit it to x degrees. Will probably do a 40 degree limit.
