Two small updates, I got a better picture of the new angle on my kammback:

I'd say I'm there, until I go for a bit more length.

Also, I was getting a vibration from my passenger side and investigated it, found one of the sliders on my brake caliper completely stuck I took the car out quickly after cleaning it up and regreasing it, and it seems to coast even better now! If that caliper was sticking a bit, I can't wait to see the FE on my next few tanks

Sticking brakes is a common neon problem, and can easily cause a mpg drop.

I've heard that from a few people now too, I only noticed the dragging yesterday so I don't know how long it was like that, but with how ridiculously stuck that slider was, it was more than just one day!

I need to check mine, I need to rebuild the hubs too. The revised angle looks good.

Thanks. I just ordered new front wheel bearings that should be here wednesday, my driver's side is howling REALLY bad. I figured it's way past time for next round of maintenance.

PS: you're famous (Reddit) The Joker's response to the Batmobile : funny

Funny with the Batman references to black ecomodded cars! I once found a note under the windshield wiper of the Firefly that said "Batman Junior" on it.

HA HA HA HA That's awesome. They work quick! That picture is from THIS MORNING! That is my car at school. I only added the extension to the kammback, and the ecomodder.com stencil to the side of the car yesterday.

Very funny! I'm digging the "make it stand out" approach you and some of the other members are taking (like Tyler's Anal Probe) with use of colour (neon green wheel covers) & stencils. Obviously other people are getting a kick out of it too.

---

While you're working at the back of the car... are you considering tapering/squaring off the corners of the rear bumper?

I doubt it would show up in an A-B-A test, but more and more high-efficiency concepts and production cars feature this mod, like the Volt, latest Prius, Honda Fit EV:
EG:

The gas Fit has rounded corners on its rear bumper; only the EV gets the squared off design.

I was just thinking about doing something like that when I was working on doing the ecomodder stencil. It was planned, and I was going to do it, but plans may have changed now. Nothing is set in stone yet, but things are in the works that this car might be near the end of it's time. It is getting very rusted out (the front subframe is quite bad), as well as rust on the doors, underside, rockers, etc. So a new (to me) car is being figured out right now.

If everything works and goes to plan, the Ohio meet/ fuel economy run may be this cars last showing.
