That's why I say, in the long run, Brazilians will destroy a lot of downsized engines. Folks here tend to neglect maintenance quite often

I heard that it was coming to the US in 2025? This would be the perfect Prius replacement for those who loved the Prius for it's storage space that was nerfed for the 5th gen in 2023. The 2025 Civic hatchback hybrid has similar size and space specs to the previous gen Prius.

Makes me wonder if Toyota expected a part of former Prius buyers to switch to the Corolla Cross. In my country, the Prius was phased out and indirectly replaced by the hybrid version of the Corolla.

I'm sure Toyota expects Prius sales to remain relatively low as they add more and more hybrids to their lineup. The Corolla Cross is just another of their 2 dozen hybrid offerings.

Even the newly redesigned Prius is only selling at a yearly rate of 55,000 a year. That is down from a peak of 230,000 when the Prius was basically Toyota's only hybrid in the USA except for the Highlander.

Toyota hybrid sales were up 80% in 1Q2024. Part of that is good sales in 2024 and part is really poor sales in 2023 that make a YoY number look better than it really is.
