It's always easier to daignose a system when you can separate the cricuits. Aplies to electrical systems and many others. Looking forward to your progress. My Sentra has such a fine mesh in the cowl screens, I haven't even checked it yet. The blower squirrel cage was clean and I had to replace the blower resistor. The motor had been replaced, probably only needed cleaning. The replacment is more noisy than the originals were.

Update: skidmark is plated and insured and not quite ready for daily driver duty. That needs to change. Fell into a pile of cash and got up in oreillys! This is my laundry list:

Front wheel bearing assemblies
front rotors
front pads
front lower ball joints
rear shoes
cap and rotor
plugs and wires
fuel filter
outer tie rod ends

I want to take skidmark to work next week.

Check engine light for VSS. Need to double check the connector at the tranny. Anyone know where else to look? Still no speedo, either. Gonna check the FSM and fuse block.

Thanks,
Victor

Nice work my friend!

For the Speedo, have you looked into possibly having a bad speedo cable? I know on the 3G civics/wago's, they gave a lot of forum members issues. They ended up just sourcing a new cable, feeding it through the firewall to the cluster, and solved their issues. So, in other words, it wasn't the actual speedometer that was bad, but the mechanical cable attaching it to the tranny. Hope this helps.

If that's it, check out www.car-part.com/

^^^^^ Thanks! Can't find the part on their website. I'm going to try and spin the cable (at the tranny connection) with a drill or something with the key on and see if the Gauge even moves.

I've been running pretty hard with this cold weather on no heat calls! Mother nature is trying to keep me out of the garage and in front of furnaces progress slows further

but, in other news, the tranny came back from powder coat today, and Holy crap, the "hooter's cream" color really matches the car well:

they even got inside the bell housing:

bearings and seals should come in Friday

Thanks,
Victor

The skidmark is front wheel drive only. The rt4 models were real time 4wd if I read correctly. There was a cool " switch" by the engine valve cover for rwd only on manuals, by the tranny on the auto's. I'll dig around and post the page from the FSM. It's pretty cool! But I'm only 2wd

EDIT:
The 4wd is real time 4wd, and can be switched to front wheel drive.

it switches like this:

I wish I had the 4wd even more now!

Thanks,
Victor
