I took it for a drive and it didn't overheat; however I must have knocked off a vacuum line because now I have a idle problem.

I have already applied three coats of resin; so tonight I start sanding and smoothing the fiberglass. I'll try to post some more pics tomorrow.

I didn't get to do any sanding last night; I'm still trying to figure out what's causing the fast idle. Here are the pics of the gap between the fender and the side piece.

I started sanding last night and got a little carried away and sanded through a couple of areas. Tonight I'll have to patch those areas. Sanding really shows up the low areas, which will have to be filled with either glass rovings or body putty. More pics coming

Thanks for thinking that what I'm doing is worth commenting on. I hope all the work will be worth it!

Not much progress to report; just the boring and time consuming process of sanding and filling; filling and sanding, etc. etc. etc.

Just a couple of pics showing the highs and lows that must be sanded down and filled in; for a smooth surface.

I just took it for a short trip; and while it didn't overheat; the heat gauge was going bonkers. It was bounching all over the place; which turned both the fans on. The engine was runnung so cold; that when I stopped I could touch the radiator without burning my hand. The more it sits, the more problems pop up. I have to start driving this car. Any body have any idea what might be making it act up? I sure don't!

Maybe the thermostat?
