they're nit selling. Apparently he uses it as a track car. Tbh the track is prpbly the least fun place to drive a car like that, it likes curvy hilly roads.

You are in step with Buckminster Fuller :

Zoom in.....
One of Breer's earliest and most startling findings was that the conventional sedan of that era (Circa 1930) was actually more aerodynamically efficient traveling in reverse than moving forward. The reason for this was the abrupt, nearly vertical tail of then-current automobiles, which created turbulence and a partial vacuum that acted as an invisible anchor. To remedy this, a sloping or tapered tail was much preferable to the contemporary practice, which is why avant garde exercises like William B. Stout's Scarab and Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion had pronounced teardrop shapes with the "big end" of the teardrop in front. These two vehicles packaged their passengers in a rather blunt forward section of the vehicle and put the engine in a tapering tail. To a somewhat lesser extent the production Tatra 77 did the same thing.

Even funnier,Breer was the guy behind the Chrysler Airflow, who in 1934,hired a famous race car driver, to drive a 1933 Chyrsler DeSoto ,across the U.S."backwards" as a publicity stunt for the debut of the new "Streamlined" Airflow. They had found that the car would go faster and get better mpg backwards, and they hoped the stunt might "educate" the public about auto styling and aerodynamics.Breer also aero-modded the Airflow.I'll have that data in an up- coming case study.

Funny part is I could really see this driving at me. I think that would be a great shape to start with. Especially with that kammback like the BMP has.

First things first, how do we get a rear engined car put power to front wheels?
I know an engine swap would be step one. And yes this is very impractical, but if I'm right, would be something really cool. I could definately retool the interior and as a bonus it would already have suicide doors .. LOL

If you're not aware of the Race Taxi ( >>>> welcome at race-taxi.ch <<<<), it's obstensibly a '62 VW bus with a 911 engine. However, it's just the 62 body shell on top of a roll cage on top of a Vanagon floor pan (with Porsche suspension).
Basically, you'd have to do the same thing with the 928-- graft the body onto a workable mid/rear engine pan and drivetrain, or fab a tube-frame!
Actually, now that I think of it, you could probably base this whole thing on a sandrail frame, and make it Porsche, VW, or even Subaru powered, as they all lend themselves to bizarro drivetrain layouts. A tube frame also lends itself to being completely custom, rather than trying to shoehorn muliple cars together.
Ok, so the Race Taxi was kind of a weird aside, but it's still really awesome. Watch the videos.

I've never seen this; Racetaxi is completely over-the-top... I've seen a Bay window bus with a 911 six and some fiberglass, but nothing close to this project... "holly thousands of hours in the shop, Batman!" Awesome build quality, too

Some one please do me the favor and use my bitmap images to make the illustrator videos. For some reason each time I make one, youtube will not convert it, any suggestions?

There was a guy just after the first of the year that sold a 928 on Craigs list in Spokane for a $100 it had tranny problems. The car itself, body wise, looked to be in great shape. Said he had to many projects. More likely his wife said he had too many projects!
That would have been a deal.

Exactly. It's really not that hard to find a project-worthy-but-not-a-basketcase 928
