well after calling around i found the crankshaft damper tool and went to another place and got a breaker bar. going to give this another shot tonight after work
Impact wrench and a powerful one at that. If all else fails a breaker bar pull out the starter and use a screwdriver to hold the starter ring teeth and hope. There is a to you can make or buy possibly rent look on amazon. I use the impact. Also try to tighten it a little just to break the static friction. It works. After you get the bolt off a sharp hammer blow to the face and some wiggle it should come off. Possibly some penetrating oil.
well
i went and rented this tool http://automotivetool.files.wordpres...ulley_tool.jpg
the concept of it seems good.
but its too damn small. ihave to take it back to napa. i thought it was just a universal one. i got a really large breaker bar. and have been trying to do use that. from reading iv heard this is the best method.
You need this or a real impact wrench. Or make one with a large nut pipewrench or a welder and flat stock.
i have this exact tool. it doesnt fit. i think its only for the 1.6. it doesnt latch on to the area around the nut. i have the setup just like his. with this chain. not working. ill post what the tool loooks like on the pulley
