Yeah, it seems that even though the crx is smaller and sits lower, the window sills are higher all around you in the civic! it seems almost counter - intuitive to me. the lower, smaller car should be built to protect you more - I guess that's why I'm not an engineer!

I can make hella ductwork and fix A/C's and furnaces, though

It makes me think what the engineers were thinking back then. I'm no engineer either but I can cook a mean burger

5 Month Update: not good

After just over 5 months and roughly 12,000 (crazy, huh?) miles, I got a little hung up in the snow and tore my airdam off. I was literally plowing with it at intersections, though!

So I ended up unscrewing the airdam off completely and re-securing my front bumper. Also took off the lower grill block (looked totally un-cool with holes cut for the fog lights), and raised the front end up about an inch and a half.

While I was under there, I noticed that my front (adjustable camber ebay cheapos) upper control arms had cracked a little at some of the welds Didn't take pictures, since I was too pissed off & couldn't believe what I'd seen! I'll take pics of it as soon as I get the new parts in place.

New ones will be Blackworks Racing adjustable upper control arms - kit includes rear camber adjustables as well. Great since they are ebay cheapies as well.

More pics once parts arrive!

Aslo looking to upgrade to ground control coilovers and adjustable shocks...

Thanks,
Victor

That's why I'm always leery of knock-off parts for critical components. If it will kill you or be very expensive to repair when it fails, go with a name you know and trust.

As for the air dam, mine is not as low but no amount of snow will rip it off the bumper. It is made out of paver edging and is very durable and the bumper cover will rip before my air dam will. Here's a pic from when I installed it:

2+ years later it is every bit as solid as the day I put it on, in spite of taking many hard hits (rocks, other debris, scraping on bumps, etc).

^^^Right on,brother! Chalk that one up to experience! I'm getting the real deal stuff now.

My lawn edging had at least 15 screws across it, that's what pulled my bumper loose was the air dam backing out of some snow!

How long on the kyg's so far? Miles/time? I'm not sure what to do with the suspension on the minion, I'll probably just wait till it blows out before I spend more $on it..

Thanks,
Victor

ok- got some new BLOX RACING (not cheapos) adjustable uppers coming in soon. Going with a brand name with a warranty this time! Only time will tell for reals how well they hold up.

I'll take some good pics of the parts to show, and when the cheapos come out, I'll share what's happened in there. don't want to take the Minion apart just yet, it's easier to de the driveway shuffle with the parts connected for now. Parts should be here by Saturday...

Thanks,
Victor
