A few more pics:
  1. Draveshaft Adapter. It's actually custom made, since the place that sells them hadn't made one specifically for this engine. The guy (Hawk Machine) was awesome to work with and when I indicated that the one he sent wouldn't work, he supplied me the custom adapter free of charge.
  2. Modified driveshaft. It's nearly three feet longer than stock and has a slip joint from a 4WD front driveshaft since there is no slip yoke on the tranny like a conventional RWD car has.
  3. Approximate position of the installed engine before I built brackets.
  4. Solidworks image of the header I plan to build. I bought a header kit on sale for about $70 that included parts to build a header for a Chevy small block in an open car. This gives me plenty of strainght and mandrel bent tube to work with, I can just cut and weld. All four tubes are within 0.5" in length.

Nothing to report at the moment. I don't seem to have a lot of time lately, mostly due to small children using much of it.

I'm also working on getting my motorcycle operational in hopes of reducing my fuel costs.

on your header you can buy some manrel bends and make it up out of them, just need a mig welder, I would drop the engine down keep the hood stock and help out the driveline angle good luck

Well, I already have all the mandrel bends I need. I bought a header kit for a V8 engine. It has 8 mandrel bent tubes that gives me plenty of material to work with and it was cheaper to buy than individual mandrel bends. I just need to get it cut up and welded.

As for the engine... well, I think I'm going to get a few more things situated on the top end of the engine (air filter being the big one) and see exactly what I've got for hood interference before I make a solid decision there.

I do appreciate any comments or suggestions though.

You could have just sold the car for quite a bit, its really popular in the import/tuner crowd..

Maybe... The "Initial D" tax seems to be fading away, and it's only an SR5. But I'm sure I could have sold it for more than I bought it for.

I like it though, so I'll stick with this car. Unfortunately, someone set a record in my class, so I have to find a way to get more speed than I originally planned. Current record is 144.612 mph.
