I've experienced this as well - any car with a boat tail will do it. I've stuck tails on 3 different vehicles so far, and it's definitely not a modification for the shy!
The most fun I have with big aero mods is when gawkers ask, "WHAT IS THAT FOR!?" I always turn it around and say, "what do you think it's for?" I've had some interesting conversations.

PS: I rotated your pics from a few posts back.
Thanks for the updates! Especially the Insight comparo.

Get used to being the center of attention and rubbernecker traffic getting in your way whenever you need to change lanes, maneuver in traffic, etc. I’ve had people ask me if the Aerocivic was a hybrid, EV, amphibious car, or roadable aircraft. The local kids called it “the spaceship car”.

Update: First fill. I didn't need fuel yet, but I had stopped for breakfast anyway. 7.193 gallons, 447.7 miles, 62.25mpg.
While eating, I ordered a set of tires and started filling a RockAuto cart.

Boat tail will draw attention. I learned that really fast haha. Now I just get a thumbs up every once in awhile since I've removed the tail on my car. I had someone try to "race me" once, but I needed to get in the left lane but the just sat behind and to the side of me recording my car.
Boat tails are still worth it though.

A warning about Gawkers...
As they gawk , they subconsciously turn the steering wheel toward you unintentionally. I have been nearly sideswiped or pushed out of my lane several times.
It’s best to just smile 😊, wave 👋 and then, ignore them.
Trust me...

World's smallest boat tail:
Varnished wood with cream pinstripes, a recessed rumble seat and an RGB LED nautical running light.

Second fill-up: 511.1 miles, 7.882 gallons, 64.85mpg. I was almost certain this tank was going to be lower. Most of the tank I was aiming for 70mph, and for maybe 75% of that it was raining heavily. I wonder if Aerocivic might not be "breaking in" again.
