Nerys

I know I may be throwing fuel on a fire here but could I ask you in the most diplomatic way possible to please STOP YELLING!

We can all READ and don't really NEED to have the important WORDS pointed out to us.

See how obnoxious and *****y that looks and I wasn't even trying to be. It's tiring to read and It makes you seem condescending and argumentative and I'm sure you don't mean to be. Unlike some members here...**coughfrankcough**

The more readable and gentlemanly way to add emphasis is with italics or bold if you absolutely must.

Thanks..

Re. Christ and you... You say tomato he says tomato. So why don't you call the whole thing off.

Frank,

Don't ever change... *Shakes head*...Wait. What am I saying...

Fuel? Fire? Kaboom? It's all so entertaining...

Edit: Christ, Caught you YELLING too back there. If I catch you two YELLING in this forum again... I'll send you straight to BED with no desert.

I've thought this thread should be moved into a new forum called "The Parking Lot", so it can be taken outside and hashed out while the rest of us can continue in (hopefully) civil discussion...

No, You caught me emphasizing a single key phrase, not half the post. Huge difference. :P

Regardless, I can't eat most desserts anyway.

here's a good research paper on drag and lift. even though it's mainly on large trucks (tractor-trailers) it does mention streamlined cars: Information Bridge: DOE Scientific and Technical Information - Sponsored by OSTI

in regards to this thread, it says:

"For instance, the creation of lift on
the vehicle (effective weight reduction) can unload the
tires and reduce rolling resistance, while creation of negative
lift or downforce can increase weight on wheels and
traction, thus increasing braking as well as handling in
wet/icy weather."

so lift is a trade-off. you can either get less rolling resistance with lift, or more control with less/negative lift. it all depends on your concerns and driving habits.
