All the aft-body is rounded over, combining tumblehome and edge radii as in Paul Jaray's original 1922 pumpkin seed.

Here's a rough 'thinking out loud' rendering.

An aerodynamic boat tail must have this rounding to perform to it's optimum, especially when truncated,as Morelli is telling us.
So, is the beaver tail of the orthogonal drawings better than the pointed tail, or vise versa?

The geodesic geometry was generated by a program named Dome 4.7. I still have the program, but it runs on Mac OS 9. I generated all the geometries for icosahedron and octahedron based domes and squirreled them away back then.

The modeling was done in Wings 3D v1.3.1 or 1.4.1. All pictures except the last from Wings 3D, the last one was rendered in Poser 7 and composited in Photoshop (a real deal, $2 at Goodwill).

I should revise it, the Chrysler slant six is gone. Nowadays a Tesla drive-train would be ideal. And the side doors should butterfly open, not slide.

My opinion is that it doesn't matter.
*coming to a point,as in Jaray's pumpkin seed was considered 'ideal' by Kamm/Koenig-Fachsenfeld.Any truncation (up to a point) will generate Morelli's 'fluid ' tail.
*Kamm's truncations at the FKFS were almost circular

*MIT used a 5.3% cambered Morelli form body for their 1993 Aztec solar racer. This body has what Goro Tamai refers to as Topedo with Flattened Tail, which was intentionally truncated to make space for license plate and tailights.Aptera as well. These bodies had pretty tasty drag numbers.
*The model will be much like the CUER solar racer,Cd 0.10,but truncated for license and lights. With an elliptical transom,it should produce the 'fluid' tail as well.

I will use this version of the AST, next, and try to get the full effect. Tumblehome is a cool word.
The term is borrowed from naval architecture.

The BOCruiser has an excellent drag coefficient and doesn't have a rounded aft-body.

We can see the same thing with Kamm's BMW

And Tatra

Here,Kamm is 'fixing' the problem for the Adler sedan, both for elevation and plan-view,by pushing the body out closer to Jaray's ideal pathway

I never got a Cd for that car,but the later,Solar GT was Cd 0.134 I think

With the less aggressive aft-body,and knife-edge wheel fairings,CUER eeks out Cd 0.10.
