Impressive numbers! How is he achieving it? EOC, driving really slow, engine/computer mods? Are those wheels factory civic from newer models?

Limited EOC, drives 55 on the freeway, he is retired so he drives at off-peak traffic hours. He lives about 45 miles from My uncle's shop and drives in 4-5 days a week, so he is using the car quite a bit. I think the wheels are from a civic hybrid? not sure, I'll update when I talk to him

1st gen insight alloy space-saver 14x4” which is 1.5” narrower than VX wheels. He says they are worth 1.5-2 mpg. Also, being narrower he was able to make the skirts flush with the uppermost lip of the fenders.
Notice the skirt doesn’t require a “bulge” to clear the bridgestone re92 165/65/14.

I poked around on your photobucket page (Lots of pics up there!), hope you don't mind.

There is a lot going on inside the car too:

What's with the panel between the driver's leg and the shift knob? What about the lever(?) between the shifter and the e-brake? It seems like it would be a little awkward to actually shift...

Motorcycle mirror on the driver's side, right? How is the visibility on that?

That warm-air intake is far more planned out than any other's I've seen. Any objective test results on that?

The padded panel is simply a leg rest, the lever is a hand throttle, I believe; the mirror is for the police, he has a convex mirror inside the door.

The WAI is new to me. Looks sweet though. I’ll check with him tonight. It looks like it might be on the car.
