Any interest in model-specific ecomodding/ecodriving guides?

For a while I've had an idea that it would be really nice if we could get owners of various cars to write up guides for ecomodding and ecodriving their cars. Some things can get very particular, and it would be nice in that sense to say: "oh you have a X? look at this." These guides wouldn't need to cover what P&G or dwl is, but would be more concerned with the foibles of cars, where they can find help especially, and where common knowledge doesn't really apply.

I think this is kind of what crxmpg.com and metrompg.com attempt to do, but this would be a single post kind of thing, put in a database, and perhaps linked to the garage.

Anyway, I don't know how troublesome writing up one of these would be, but if there's interest, I'll make one for my car as a template.

Thanks,
Benjamin

SVOboy -

I was thinking that we could have a table that is Poll Driven. A row/column of cars and a column/row of mods. For each mod, the owner could vote whether or not the mod worked for their car. The poll would dump them into a thread where they could comment (once?) on how/why whether or not the mod worked for them.

The definition of the car gets complicated, though, because some of us have the same car with different options, i.e. auto/manual transmissions.

I like the idea. I know the MPGuino wiki has/is going to have a table of vehicles with model-specific gauge setup information. This could be another thing included in the model-specific guides.

Could they be included on the wiki of this site (same as the gauge)? From the way I see it, that would be an efficient way to accomplish the goal online.

How is the template coming along?

I am interested.
Not sure how much help I could be though.
Good idea.

I love the idea. It would be a great place for people to start out developing their own skills and style. I imagine it would take a lot of work to compile, but I think it would help out everyone. Brilliant!!!

I pondered this too. As it turns out, there are car sites on the net where people can post what they have done, good or bad, it is informative sometimes. The key was seeing good and bad.Crazy to oops "I broke a world record with common sense", ecomod or not. Emphasizing any subject brings a black hole of denial and it is repulsive. Not to burst a bubble... Science has eyes all around. Not just ecomod.
Summing up ecomod is "how lean can it go and be safe."
To post how it is done...rules out all fuel injection. then insanity ensues...aerodynimics for thew 500 pound inline auto.etc etc etc.
It is all drivetrain. All quests revolve around the drivetrain. I wouldn't waste time with the database.

Count me in! I can only guesstimate now, but once I have an MPGuino, I'll be able to come up with the specific tricks for my car, which should help other 90-93 Accord owners.
